Garage Door Repair in Clinton, Jackson & Central Mississippi

A garage door that won’t open, won’t close, or sounds like it’s about to fall apart is more than an annoyance. It can trap your car, leave your home unsecured, and in some cases it’s dangerous. Partridge Door Company has repaired garage doors in central Mississippi since 1979, from our shop at 200 Battery Dr. in Clinton.

We provide residential garage door service for all makes and models. We repair the door, the hardware and the opener, so one call covers the whole system.

Common garage door problems we fix

Broken springs

Springs counterbalance the weight of the door. When one breaks, the door suddenly feels like it weighs hundreds of pounds, and the opener usually can’t lift it. We replace torsion and extension springs, and most of the time we can do it the same day. → Broken Spring Replacement

Worn or broken rollers

Grinding, rattling or a door that shakes in its track usually means the rollers are worn out. Replacing broken and worn rollers is one of our most common repairs. It often makes an old door run noticeably smoother and quieter.

Broken cables

Lift cables wrap around drums at each end of the spring shaft. A frayed or snapped cable can leave the door hanging crooked or stuck. We replace cables and drums and rebalance the door. Don’t run the opener with a loose cable.

Damaged sections (garage door panel replacement)

A bumped bumper, a storm or years of wear can bend or crack a panel. We repair and replace individual sections when the rest of the door is in good shape, which can cost less than replacing the whole door. It depends on whether a matching section is still available for your door.

Off-track or crooked doors

A door that has jumped its track or hangs unevenly should not be operated. Leave it where it is and call us. We’ll find out why it happened, whether it was a roller, a cable or an impact, and reset it safely.

Opener and remote problems

Openers that hum but don’t move, reverse unexpectedly, or don’t respond to the remote are a big part of our work. We repair openers of all makes and models, carry all LiftMaster, Genie and Linear parts, stock gear kits for LiftMaster, Sears and Chamberlain openers, and keep LiftMaster, Genie and Linear remotes and keypads on hand to program to your opener. → Opener Repair & Installation

Safety sensor issues

If your door starts down and then reverses, the photo-eye safety sensors near the floor may be blocked, dirty or misaligned. We stock replacement safety sensors and can realign or replace them.

Repair or replace?

We’ll tell you honestly. If a repair will give you years of reliable use, we’ll recommend the repair. If your door is badly damaged, out of balance or near the end of its life, we’ll show you new door options from Amarr, Clopay, C.H.I. and Wayne Dalton and give you a free estimate. → New Garage Door Installation

Prevent the next repair

A yearly tune-up catches worn rollers, fraying cables and tired springs before they leave you stuck. → Garage Door Maintenance

Garage door repair FAQ

Can I keep using my garage door if it’s making a loud noise?

If it’s just louder than usual, it’s probably safe for now. Schedule a repair soon, because worn rollers and dry hardware get worse. If you heard a bang, the door is crooked, or a cable is loose, stop using it and call us.

Do you repair garage doors you didn’t install?

Yes. We service and repair garage doors and openers of all makes and models, no matter who installed them.

What is the most common garage door repair?

Broken springs are the most common repair we make, followed by worn rollers, cable problems and opener issues such as stripped gears and misaligned safety sensors.

What should I do if my garage door is off track?

Stop using the door and the opener, keep people and cars clear, and don’t try to force it back into the track. The door may be held up only partly. Call us so we can reset it safely and find out why it came off.

Is it cheaper to repair or replace a garage door?

Usually a repair costs less, especially for springs, rollers, cables or a single section. Replacement makes more sense when several sections are damaged, matching panels aren’t available, or the door is near the end of its life. We’ll give you an honest recommendation.

How much does garage door repair cost?

It depends on what’s broken and what parts are needed. Call (601) 372-4874, describe the problem, and we’ll explain what to expect.

Will my home warranty cover the repair?

That depends on your plan. We’re a service provider for American Home Shield, First American and The Warranty Group, among others. Start the claim with your warranty company.

Is your work covered by a warranty?

Yes. All of our products and services come with a 1-year warranty, followed by the manufacturers’ warranties.
