Why choose the Amarr Classica

The giveaway on most steel carriage house doors is the extra section line. Classica uses three tall sections, so the stamped crossbucks, boards and window tops line up the way a real wood swing door would. It’s still low-maintenance steel underneath, available from a basic single-layer door up to a 2″ polyurethane-insulated model.

Design options: designs, colors and glass

Classica has the deepest color list in the lineup: 13 factory colors, including Golden Oak, Walnut and Mahogany woodtones, plus dozens of two-tone combinations where the trim and the field are different colors. Windows can be plain glass, DecraTrim inserts (Danube, Madeira, Nile, Rhine, Seine, Thames) or DecraGlass designs (Jardin, Trellis). Add handles and hinges to finish the look.

Construction, insulation and specs

Where it fits best

Craftsman, Cape Cod, cottage, Colonial and Mediterranean homes. It’s a good choice if you love the carriage look but don’t want to refinish wood every few years in a Mississippi summer.

Manufacturer: Lifetime paint finish warranty; workmanship/hardware is 3 years (single-layer), 5 years (double-layer) or lifetime (triple-layer), per Amarr. Why does Classica have only three sections?

Fewer, taller sections let the stamped carriage design run uninterrupted, so the door looks more like a pair of swing-out wood doors.

What is a two-tone Classica door?

The trim boards and the field panels are painted different factory colors, for example Dark Brown with a Sandtone field, to highlight the carriage details.

Which Classica is the most energy efficient?

The triple-layer polyurethane model, at a published R-value of 13.35.

Can I add decorative hardware?

Yes. Amarr offers several handle and hinge sets for Classica, and we install them with the door.
