Why choose the Amarr Northwoods

Northwoods gives you the warm, linear look of a wood plank door without the sanding and sealing. The printed grain has several tones in it, so it doesn’t look like a flat brown paint, and the ribbed section adds real shadow lines. It suits modern, mid-century and transitional homes where a stained wood door would be the first choice.

Design options: designs, colors and glass

Pick a finish, then choose windows: short- or long-panel windows with frames matched to the finish, or SlimLine windows with black frames for a sharper, modern line. Mosaic Window placement lets you put windows where you want them for a custom pattern.

Construction, insulation and specs

Both models are triple-layer steel. The NW3138 is 1-3/8″ thick at R-6.48, and the newer NW3000 is 2″ thick at R-9.05. WindPro reinforcement is available. See how door insulation works on our insulated garage doors page.

Where it fits best

Mid-century and modern homes, stone or brick exteriors that need a warm accent, and homes in shaded, humid lots where real wood would struggle.

Warranty

Manufacturer: 12-year paint finish warranty; workmanship/hardware is 3 years on the NW3138 and lifetime on the NW3000, per Amarr. Partridge Door: we add a 1-year warranty on the products we sell and the installation work we do, and Amarr’s coverage continues after that. Ask us for the full warranty document for your exact model.

Amarr Northwoods FAQ

Is Northwoods real wood?

No. It’s insulated steel with a digitally printed woodgrain finish, so it never needs staining or sealing.

Will the printed finish fade in the Mississippi sun?

It’s a factory finish backed by a 12-year paint warranty from Amarr. Darker finishes on west-facing doors take the most sun, and we can talk through options during your estimate.

What is a Mosaic window layout?

Mosaic lets you place windows in different spots across the door instead of one straight row, for a custom, modern pattern.

Which Northwoods model should I choose?

For an attached or air-conditioned garage, the 2″ NW3000 at R-9.05 is the better pick. The NW3138 suits detached garages and tighter budgets.
