Why choose the Amarr Designer's Choice

If your garage shares a wall with a bedroom or a living room, or you use it as a shop, Designer’s Choice is the carriage-style door to look at. It pairs stamped bead-board and recessed designs with a triple-layer polyurethane core, so it keeps more heat out in July and runs quieter than lighter doors.

Choose from eight factory colors, including Walnut and Mahogany woodtones, or Amarr Color Zone for a Sherwin-Williams match. Long-panel windows can be plain glass or one of the DecraTrim or DecraGlass designs, in clear, obscure, frost or dark tint.

Manufacturer: Lifetime paint finish warranty; workmanship/hardware is 5 years on the 1-3/8″ DC3138 and lifetime on the 2″ DC3200, per Amarr. Partridge Door: we add a 1-year warranty on the products we sell and the installation work we do, and Amarr’s coverage continues after that. Amarr Designer's Choice FAQ

What does R-19.40 mean for my garage?

R-value measures resistance to heat flow. A higher number means the door slows heat moving through it, which helps an attached garage stay cooler in summer.

How is Designer's Choice different from Hillcrest?

Both are steel carriage house doors. Hillcrest is the value line with polystyrene options, while Designer’s Choice is always triple-layer polyurethane for more insulation and quieter operation.

Is it quieter than a standard door?

Yes. The dense polyurethane core and triple-layer build dampen noise. Pair it with a belt-drive opener for the quietest result.

Can I get windows in a Designer's Choice door?

Yes. Long-panel windows come in clear, obscure, frost or dark tint, with DecraTrim and DecraGlass designs available.
